Children learn best through play. Careful planning helps this age group make appropriate choices. A variety of small and large motor development toys are provided to help develop muscles and minds. These toys also help children to learn to share with others, to develop imagination and to learn to make healthy choices.
We plan our curriculum by using the Creative Curriculum. It is used to determine what is developmentally appropriate for the children to the next level of learning.
The learning is planned to be realistic, attainable, fun and to build curiosity. The curriculum provides safe and healthy learning that is appropriate to the children’s developmental level. It is planned to be socially relevant, mentally engaging, and meaningful to the child.
Learning to speak clearly and learning new words is so important for toddlers. A lot of talking, singing, and conversation takes place to assist children in the development of language. Activities build on what the child already knows, and supports the child to the next level of achievement.
We work along with the parents to assist the children to gain the important skill of toileting independently.
We make potty training not only as pleasant as possible but fun for the children. Your child will be encouraged to use the toilet whenever he/she shows interest after the child is 18 months. We strive for all of our children’s diapering and toilet experiences to be positive ones, therefore, we do not use bribes, threats, or shaming to achieve bladder control, nor will any child be forced or intimidated into using the toilet.
We help the child celebrate the toughest thing they will ever learn in life. This process takes emotional, social, mental processing and great physical skills to accomplish. And we acknowledge all of the effort moms and dads have to put into this new accomplishment.
